Ultrasound is a great tool for bovine fertility and early pregnancy check. Using ultrasound vet practices can expand their service and generate more profit. It is usually a win-win situation for veterinarians and or his/her clients.
It has been proven that with ultrasound early pregnancy can be defined as much as 7 days earlier versus manual palpation. It means that ultrasound helps reduce the number of days when the cow is open and increase probability to make the cow pregnant. As a result profitability of the veterinarian practice and its clients increases.
Needless to say that ultrasound improves bovine animals’ welfare through detecting abnormalities and early fetal death detection. In most cases it can not be done with manual palpation.
